I’m not sure exactly how it works but it’s obvious throughout Scripture the Lord moves in seasons. There doesn’t seem to be a set formula, or predictable timeline, but it becomes evident as I lean into the Spirit of God that there are certain things He highlights at different times. There are things that are always on His heart, but there are seasons where He seems to be emphasizing or pointing at something specifically.
Every day in cities all over America, thousands of students gather in one location–their campus. For years, as a pastor working with youth and young adults, we had been pressing in for a strategy on how to impact the schools, colleges and universities in our city and nation. We were never satisfied with just great church meetings or a Campus Ministry that has large numbers; we wanted to reach the city and influence entire campuses. We always knew prayer would be at the heart of this movement but we were looking for a strategy that would prove fruitful and sustainable. Then the Lord released a dream to me
You are called to take over the world. You are part of a revolution. You are appointed to overthrow the government of darkness that has enslaved people in sin and sickness, and to establish the Kingdom of Light on earth as it is in Heaven. Our revolution is not a worldly anarchy of violence and control; it is a Heavenly reformation of truth—spoken in love
There is a major difference between one’s private life and one’s public life. Most people have no problem rocking out to their favorite song while singing at the top of their lungs in their bedroom, the shower, or their car. But play that same favorite song while that same person is on stage in front of a thousand people and you probably won’t see him or her rocking out.
I have been discontent. I have been unsatisfiedeven in the midst of miracles. I wasn’t quite surewhy. I started thinking there was something wrong with me. I started praying about a message for Sunday morning and I didn’t feel like I was getting anything. I felt like God was so distant. Saturday night rolled around and I felt like I had a few ideas, but nothing that was burning in my heart.
Galatians 5:22-23 - NASB 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Where Im from, West Texas, everybody gets taught these nine fruits in Sunday school to the tune of a little song and have them memorized by the time they are in 3rd grade.
We as the body of Christ are called to stand. In the mist of defeat we stand, in victory we stand, In conflict we stand. We carry the standard for our nation; It is us that set the bar. We have been mandated to represent the father’s heart to the whole earth. So much of who Christ is to the world is manifest through our words and actions. We have an opportunity in every situation to demonstrate the love of God in everything that we do…
The cost of living is high; it is not for the weak or the faint at heart. Anyone can survive but not everyone can truly live. Living requires courage; it will take all the tenacity that you can muster. Talk a walk down the path of life and along the way you will find many surprises. Men are shaped by the heavy storms that adversity brings, if you are smart, you will prepare ahead of time.
Throughout history there have been stories about men and women who grabbed hold of the fact that it is possible for one person to change the world. We read about their lives in history books, tell children about their incredible feats, and immortalize them in movies. There is something so intriguing about these people that we continue to talk about them for centuries.
