Until You Give

What if Peter had passed this man by? Would it be as if he said, "What I have, I refuse to give you?" Or maybe, "I'm not sure if what I have will do you any good, so see ya when I come out of church!"

Peter discovered what he had by giving it away! And as he did, it kept becoming more and more until one day his shadow was healing people!!

Now back to New York. Two weeks after I arrived, while walking down the street in Brooklyn, a man was on the other side of the road screaming. I looked over and saw him chasing a crying woman (his girlfriend), threatening to beat her up. I yelled over to him, telling him he better chill or I was calling the cops. A minute later I dialed 911, and told him they'd be there soon. Now he was yelling at her and me! He wanted me to come across the street so he could yell at me some more. Of course I wasn't going to go over there, until I had this thought, "The Kingdom inside me can do more than the police can". I walked over and we started to yell at each other, except I was yelling that "love doesn't look like that" and that "he is way too good to treat her that way!" Then another lady comes out and starts yelling at me too! She told me if I was a Christian I would leave them alone and keep the peace. I told her it's the peace makers that are sons of God, not peace keepers! In the midst of all the yelling I felt something shift, and told her we were going to pray. Within 5 minutes I had prayed with both women, the man was in the house and everything had completely calmed down (that never happens in Brooklyn!). I walked back to my house shocked by what I saw take place. I had no clue what I had until I gave it away.

The only way you'll ever know what you have is when you give it away; the more you give, the more you'll realize how much you've been given, and the more it will grow.

Just like the man begging when Peter walked up to him, you pass by people everyday who are begging for what you have! Maybe it's peace. Maybe it's healing. Maybe it's joy. Whatever it is, they are begging for the Kingdom of God! They are begging for someone to give it to them! Will it be you?
