Well, this is my first official blog. I guess it is time for me to begin communication with the rest of the world. Our music attorney recently sent me a link the other day which I was fascinated by (though it probably doesn’t take much to fascinate me). If nothing else it certainly shed light on the social revolution that is taking place all around us.
Could someone tell my parents about this revolution. They are 75 and 77 and still don’t own a computer. I keep trying to let them know how much they would love it. My dad could find all his favorite campsites across the country. My mom who is a garage sale ADDICT (always looking for a deal) could buy and sell till her hearts content on eBay or craigslist without ever leaving the house. But as the saying goes "its hard to teach old dogs new tricks".
But I wonder how many of us are like my parents when it comes to the "spiritual revolution" going on around us. Are we stuck in old patterns of thought, or belief systems that may need to be revolutionized? For many of us, it is probably hard for us to trust in a system we are not familiar with. At first we tend to live in denial believing that we don’t need yet another system invading our lives, we are happy with our current system and have no need to change. Then, as time goes by and we begin to observe others who are enjoying the new system we have rejected and heart begins to warm up to the idea. Eventually, walls come down, trust follows and we realize the benefits that come with the new system.
What do you say we go on an adventure together, discovering all the new things God has for us (even social revolutions). He is pouring out new wine all over the world and I don’t want to miss out. How about we embrace this new REVOLUTION that is taking place all over the world.
And I’ll keep you updated on my parents social revolution...
