I am writing this from vacation! Yea for me! I'm down here in sunny Southern California doing the Disneyland thing. If you've never been to Disneyland with an 8 year old, 5 year old, and a 2 year old, then you are missing out. Quite the fun and exciting adventure. Although, I'm finding that as a dad of young kids, vacations are not too restful. Fun but not restful. But I'm looking forward to getting back because we have a full year ahead of us.
In the midst of the busy schedule I have been sensing the Lord wooing me ("wooing" that's an impressive word). Bill said something the other day that hit me hard. He said something along the lines that many times the enemy of revival can be the busyness revival brings. We live in an hour where God is pouring out His Spirit all over the world in an unprecedented way. It's so much fun as well. We get to see God touching people and changing lives. However, I've been feeling a renewed sense of keeping Psalm 27:4 at the core of what I do. There's just one thing I want to be after. God's Presence. Being with Him every moment of the day. Even in the midst of busy revival and changing lives I don't want to lose the very reason why I'm doing all of this. To intimately partner with Him. To touch His heart and have Him touch my heart. I just want to be loved by Him and love Him. The ultimate accomplishment.
Well, there are a ton of things coming up that have me almost jumping out of my skin. Kim Walker just recorded her solo album with songs she has written. And let me tell you, it is smokin! You are going to love it. I've been listening to it as they get it ready. I'm super excited about it. We should have it ready to release at Jesus Culture Encounter this February in Redding. Which is another thing I'm stoked about. We've been wanting to have Dutch Sheets come and minister for years and it's finally working out. I feel so much anticipation for this conference. That conference we will be recording our annual Jesus Culture worship album with Kim Walker, Chris Quilala, and Melissa How (formerely Melissa Wise). If you have enjoyed We Cry Out you are going to love this one coming up. Then we start getting ready for Jesus Cultures all over the world. Australia, New Zealand, Dallas, Orange County, Atlanta, Redding, England. We're going to have a great year.
Let's go after God more then ever before this year. And let's make sure we take time to let Him find us as well. It's going to be an incredible year!
