Let's Go Get God

I’ve been in ministry for almost 12 years now and I am in the most exciting time of my life. In the past few weeks, I have seen some of the most significant things in our local youth group since I’ve been in ministry. God is visiting our young people. They are encountering angels, having supernatural visitations, they are regularly going to heaven, and much more. It’s been an amazing time of increased awareness of His presence in our midst.

In the midst of this, the story of Jonah has been sticking out to me recently. God had such a heart for the city of Ninevah He decided to raise up a revivalist who would go to Ninevah and see the city turn to God. This seems to be the way God works. His heart begins to burn for a city or a nation so He begins to put an anointing and authority on certain individuals for that city or nation. I love how God works! This is what I am seeing in the nation right now, especially on universities. God’s heart is so passionate about universities He is anointing revivalists who are going to invade these campuses and see them turn back to God.

We just finished our first ever campus conference in San Francisco at UC Berkeley. Our team gathered with about 125 people representing six campuses to cry out for revival and be equipped in the realm of the supernatural to bring the Kingdom to their campus. Over 100 people went onto the campus one day to minister the love and power of God to people. The testimonies were incredible! People got saved, healed, and prophesied over. As well, students were equipped to begin to minister like that everyday on their campus.

This week I spent time on the phone with people from California, Texas, and Alabama talking about there desire to see campuses impacted in our nation. This just tells me God’s heart is burning for revival in America and He is stirring the hearts of people to see that happen. This is why Jonah is so profound to me. God put His hand on Jonah to see a city turn to God and He was so intent on that happening it didn’t matter how far Jonah ran, God still apprehended him.

The other thing I’ve been thinking about that ties into this is the verses out of Isaiah 50 and Zechariah 10.
“Seek the Lord well He may be found, call upon Him while He is near.”
“Ask the Lord for rain in the time of the latter rain.”
Those verses are crazy to me. It seems there are seasons where God is easily found. God can always be found, He’s always available to us, but it seems as if there are times where He is more easily found and more readily available to us. The Bible says in those times, when it’s raining, we are to ask the Lord for rain. I have three little kids and when they play hide-and-seek with me they are intently seeking me to find me somewhere in the house. But when they see me, they turn to each other and scream, “There’s daddy, get him!” This is always followed by a mini dog-pile on daddy. There was a level of intensity of seeking me as they looked for me, but when they found me there pursuit of me went to another level.

This is the season we are in. Right now, all over the world and in America, God is pouring out the rains of revival. Our response must be to go after Him even harder and ask for rain. He is making Himself available in cities and on campuses around the world and we are experiencing the presence of God like never before. We’ve got to turn to each other and yell, “There’s God, I see Him, get Him!” This of course should be followed up by a radical pursuit of God filled with fun and joy. We are in the midst of revival so we must go to another level of pursuit.

Well those are some random thoughts from me. Let’s just commit to pursuing God like never before. In the midst of the greatest outpouring we’ve ever experienced, let’s get a bunch of people together and tackle God.
