Hey all,
Happy New Years from the Jesus Culture team! Lets talk about what's happening for us in 2011 ...
It's pretty rare to have so many awesome things happen at the same time on this site. Ok, that might not be true. We are ALWAYS in the middle of awesome things. So what's going on? Well, for one, we have our Encounter conference (jesusculture.com/encounter) coming up in just two weeks! This is our biggest conference of the year and we are STOKED to have Russell Evans here with us. If you didn't know, Russell is over a huge ministry in Australia called PlanetShakers and he is easily becoming one of our favorite friends. If you can't make it to the conference, it's ok. There's no use crying over spilled milk. We are going to be streaming the conference ONLINE for all of you out there and it is going to be awesome! You can make your way over to www.iBethel.tv when the time comes and you'll be able to experience the whole thing in the comfort of your own house. We even have a little secret surprise coming up. Intrigued? Good. Moving on.
Things don't end there for us in January. Right after Encounter, the team is shipping off to a great little place called Australia! We have a 2 week stint in the outback and
Dear Jesus Culture friends,
Today our new album, Come Away, debuted but we were unpleasantly surprised that eight of the ten songs are currently available "album only" on iTunes. It was never our intent to have to force our friends to purchase the entire album.
We had a mix up between our former distributor with iTunes and the policy we were following, that songs must be under ten minutes before they became 'album only', and our current distributors policy is that they have to be under seven minutes before they become 'album only'. We thought we had this worked out, but apparently not. We are currently working with our current distributor to see if they can bring the original plan back on line.
Thankfully, they have put all the songs as singles on iTunes which can be downloaded individually if you do a 'search' for Jesus Culture. This procedure is a bit confusing and we apologize for any inconvenience.
Our heart is to serve the body of Christ and make our worship as accessible as possible with the goal of igniting a greater passion in your heart to see Jesus lifted high. Though we love the way the album has turned out, it is not our plan to make people buy the whole album for a particular song. We will let you know as this developments further.
Thanks for your love and support.
Hey Guys,
Darren here again. I'm just popping in here to give you guys a quick update. It's been a nonstop rush since the team has come back from our UKTour 2010. We got back and had only a few days to finish up our upcoming CD/DVD 'Come Away.' We're talking about way too many cups of coffee, twinkies galore, and more chinese take-out than you can count. (I'm kidding about that last part.) But in all seriousness, the team here has busted their butt in making sure that this next release is our best one yet. We've fine-tuned every conceivable (and inconceivable) detail to make it feel like you are at a Jesus Culture event with us. For our DVD, we've added some goodies like 5.1 surround sound, an extra song, an exclusive 25-minutes bonus featurette on Jesus Culture, and more than 10 minutes of extra spontaneous worship time that we just couldn't fit inside our normal CD. You'll want the DVD - that much we can guarantee you.
As I'm writing this, we are 19 days away from our release date. In the meantime, we are going to be holding a Twitter contest for a few lucky people out in the internet-web-world. We'll be releasing the rules of this shortly but to give you a sneak peak - we are giving away 49 physical copies (CD/DVD) of 'Come Away'!!! 1 lucky Grand Prize winner will win a new Ipod and all of our cds
As I write this blog I am flying at an altitude of 37,996 ft. My son is sitting next to me eating Ritz and watching Wall-E. I wanted to write and give you all an update on our UK Tour and Berlin, Germany. To be honest, I’m not sure how I am going to be able to completely do that in just a blog. It was a whirlwind of a trip and God did so much. As I think back over the last eighteen days, I’m overwhelmed by all that God did. The lives He touched, the people He healed, the hearts He ignited.
Twenty-four of our team (my family included) took off September 22. Our first stop was Leicester, England, where we did our annual Jesus Culture Conference. Ian and Marge Rossol are the pastors of an absolutely amazing church in Leicester and every year it is a highlight for us to be with them. Right away, from the first worship song on the first night, I could sense God was up to something. I was so impacted by the hunger and passion of a generation in the UK that have set their hearts to pursue God with everything in them. In fact, one of the defining marks of every city we went to on this trip was the incredible passion that people had to lift up the name of Jesus and to press in for revival in their nation. So much hunger and faith. We had
